OWI: They have set up the Hiro and Adam showdown...who is going to win?
OKA: Tune in December 3rd
OWI: Finish this sentence: To become a successful actor in film and/or television,
it takes.....
OKA: Perseverance, talent, and some luck.
OWI: Takezo Kensei was Hiro's childhood hero. Who was Masi Oka's childhood
hero?
OKA: My mom. As a single mother, she brought me to America sacrificing a lot in
her life to provide us with a better life.
OWI: Describe how you have been trying to gradually "improve" your character's
English on the show -- I've been impressed with how Hiro's gone from a virtual
non-English speaker to a fairly conversational speaker, but viewers haven't
thought it forced at all.
OKA: After Hiro has seen Charlie, he spent more time (than what was shown in
the series) in the past. At that time he's learned a lot of vocabulary. That was the
first improvement, but I've been gradually dialing down the "accent", lightening
specific sounds.
Thanks go to Masi for taking some time out of his busy schedule for us. Thanks
also go to his publicist, Sue, for putting up with our persistence! Make sure to
check out the HEROES novel 'Saving Charlie' due out in December. That will
surely fill in that time Hiro spent with Charlie.
