Current events have riven the Sanders/Hawkins family once again.
Jessica took complete possession of the body she shares with Niki, bought
a high-powered rifle, and went on the hunt for D.L. and Micah, intent upon
killing D.L. and retrieving Micah. She managed to take a couple of shots at D.
L. when he stopped for fuel and snacks at a gas station in Utah. One bullet
penetrated his shoulder, but he managed to avoid what would have been a
fatal head wound by shifting it away from him. Even though they managed to
escape Jessica, D.L. knows his and Micah’s lives are in danger from her. D.
L. now knows that it is Jessica, not Niki, who wants him dead, and is
determined to do whatever is necessary to keep himself and Micah alive.
Now fully aware of Jessica’s existence, Niki fights for possession of their
body in order to protect her family from Jessica. While Jessica tracked D.L.
and Micah after the assassination attempt, Niki was able to come forth and
confront Jessica, but Jessica regained control of their body, and continued
her hunt.
Jessica found D.L. and Micah in an abandoned house, where D.L. disarmed
her with a shovel blow to the gut that caused the rifle to fly from her hands
and out of her reach. D.L. got the gun, but Jessica kicked it out of his hand.
Micah tried to stop her, but she shoved him away so forcefully that he fell
into a pile of rocks, and sustained an injured shoulder and knee. This was a
huge mistake on her part.
Driven by a mother’s instinct to protect her child, Niki shoved Jessica
away. She apologized to D.L., and they head toward a motel so Micah’s and
D.L.s injuries can be treated. As Niki explained about Jessica, she realized
that she had to stop her before Jessica could further harm Micah.
Looking through the trees, toward the highway, Niki saw a police car parked
outside a convenience store. Nursing his injured knee, Micah stumbled and
fell to the street. D.L. went back to help Micah to his feet, and Niki used the
opportunity to sprint through the woods and across the highway to one of
the lawmen.
She told them to arrest her. For murder.
Niki Sanders is now in police custody, it remains to be seen what will
happen to her and her family. This report will be updated as events unfold.
