Part II. The Past:
With her husband in prison, Niki resorted to stripping on her internet
website for pay, at the rate of $39.00 per 20 minutes. The money she earned
didn’t even pay her household expenses. In recognition of her son’s need for
a better education than can be provided by public schools, and her inability
to raise the tuition for Micah to enroll at a private school for gifted children,
Niki obtained a loan of $30,000 from Mr. Linderman, her husband’s former
employer. The money from the loan didn’t go far; Niki had tuition to pay, on
top of the $25,000 enrollment fee. Because Niki was behind on tuition
payments, Micah was no longer allowed to attend his private school.
In order to repay her debt to Linderman, Niki agreed to seduce Nathan
Petrelli, of New York, who was in Las Vegas to solicit funds from Linderman
to finance Petrelli’s campaign for senator in his home state. Niki met
Petrelli in the hotel bar, and accompanied him to his hotel room. The
attraction between them was quite strong, but Niki could not go through
with the plan. She confessed to Nathan that she had been hired to seduce
him so they could be videotaped having sex. Linderman intended to use the
videotape as “insurance” to protect his investment in Nathan’s campaign.
Niki left Nathan and went back to her hotel room.
Over the past several months, Jessica, Niki’s alter-ego has revealed herself
to Niki through mirrors and other reflective surfaces. Niki has experienced
blackouts, similar to those experienced by people suffering from advanced
alcoholism or Multiple Identity Disorder (MID, commonly called
schizophrenia). The blackouts are of no certain duration, and afterward, Niki
has no idea of what occurred during the missing time. She recently
confessed her time losses to her friend, Tina, and expressed fears that she
has been watched at times by someone she can’t see. (I am certain Niki is
completely unaware of our surveillance.) Niki’s fears of being watched could
be the simple paranoia many MID sufferers experience. Niki also confided to
Tina that she often sees the reflection of another person, named Jessica,
reflected back to her from mirrors and other reflective materials. Oddly,
although Jessica is the name of Niki’s deceased sister, Niki seems not to
have made a connection between the name of the “woman in the mirror” and
that of her late sister.
Some of the events that occurred during Niki’s blackouts have recently been
revealed to her, as a direct result of the actions of, or intervention by
Jessica. Our surveillance has revealed that Niki and Jessica share the
same body, and that Jessica has never been unaware of Niki’s presence in
the body, as, until very recently, Niki has been unaware of Jessica.
Although Jessica has committed several heinous crimes, it appears that all
of her actions are designed to prevent Niki from being harmed, either
physically or mentally. Either Jessica is unaware, or dismissive, of the
anguish her existence and actions have caused Niki.
Events that have taken place during Niki’s blackouts include:
1. All the times Niki was abused by her father during her childhood;
2. The murders and burials in the desert of D.L. Hawkins’ crew;
3. The theft of the $2 million that D.L. Hawkins was convicted of, and
recently serving time for in prison;
4. The murders of two of Linderman’s thugs sent to Niki’s home to collect
her debt, one way or the other, and the cleanup of the bodies Niki found in
her garage when she regained consciousness from a blow to the head,
administered by one of the thugs. (Jessica sent Niki to the desert to bury
the thugs, and while digging the graves, Niki discovered the skeletons of D.
L.’s crew, identifiable by the matching rings the entire crew wore.);
5. The forgiveness of Niki’s debt to Linderman when Jessica went to Nathan
Petrelli’s room and completed the seduction, even though both were aware
of the camera videotaping them;
6. The murder of three men playing poker, and
7. The purchase of a high-powered rifle, with which Jessica made two
attempts on the life of D.L. Hawkins.
Jessica has confessed all the murders to Niki, as well as the fact that she
stole the two million dollars in order to set up D.L. for the crime and get him
out of the way because Jessica sees him as a threat to the safety of Niki
and Micah. Her reason for killing the poker players was that it was best “not
to leave witnesses behind.” Jessica also confirmed D.L. Hawkins did not
murder his crew, and that she stole the $2 million in order to set up D.L. to
take the fall because she considered him a threat to the safety of Niki and
Micah.
After these revelations, Jessica convinced Niki that the only way to insure
that D.L. could not take Micah away from them (she calls Micah “our son”)
was to retrieve the money from the attic of Niki’s house, take Micah and go
on the run. But D.L. was watching, and after a struggle with Jessica (whom,
having no knowledge of his wife’s alter ego, he thought was Niki), ended
with D.L. shifting his hand and arm through Jessica’s diaphragm, then
looping back to the front so he could choke her. He left her for dead on the
floor of Niki’s bedroom, and took both Micah and the case of money.
