The OWI was created in 2006 as an outlet for HEROES
fans who had a serious outlook on the deeper
philosophical, mythological and scientific basis of the
show.
Created by David Deas, who began his HEROES
obsession by posting on NBC's official forum, the OWI
spun out of a single thread, dubbed the Unified Theory,
which had become a weekly stop for HEROES fans on
Tuesday mornings.
Spurred on by the desire to expand on what he had
begun at NBC, David quietly brought his first website to
life on December 7, 2006 just two months after the show
started to air.
The OWI (Organization Without Initials) was a term David
coined for the organization which Mr Bennet, played by
Jack Coleman, worked for. With a new site and endless
possibilities the OWI took on a life all of its own.
The OWI has become one of a select few truly fan
operated sites that has had the opportunity to interview
the cast and crew of the series.
The goal of the OWI is to give fans insight into the show
and the people who bring it to life. Fans can be secure in
the knowledge that the OWI is a safe place to discuss all
aspects of the show and more. The OWI welcomes fans
to participate through their own writing and artwork as
well.
